Joel Karp

Joel  is an MBA with 16 years experience bringing emerging concepts to market and creating strategic alliances to competitively position products and services. Most recently, Joel led the development of Hyundai Motor America’s in-vehicle app strategy. Joel previously led partnership negotiations and developed business requirements for Softcard, a mobile payments joint venture between AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Prior to Softcard, Joel helped define functionality for the eReader tablet and eBook store for Skiff, a Hearst backed startup. In previous roles Joel served as Head of Mobile for Sony Connect, and led product development at Alltel (prior to its sale to Verizon Wireless) where he developed the go-to-market approach for mobile music services. Joel received his BA in history from the University of Vermont and his MBA from the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis.
